Artist Rachel Scanlon makes multi-sensory installation art to inspire children to use their imagination and play. Her most recent exhibition "Little Big World" at The Herbert Gallery in Coventry contained 3 giant pop-up books based on well-known fairy tales, entertaining children aged one through to 13. The children can enter the books through child-height doors, and move around inside the scenes. |
Rachel uses these mini-sets as a base for art workshops for children, these include mask-making, story-making, role-play, props, model-making and more. Rachel also currently works at the Nottingham Arts Theatre designing and making sets, as well as painting murals and running general art workshops for all ages.
