Necklace by Barrera

This necklace is made from gold plated metalwork and it is signed Barrera on the reverse side as well as Avon. Avon had many designers making quality pieces for them, including Kenneth J Lane. The necklace has a sturdy and large fish hook clasp at the back and has large chain links. Across the front there are two sections forming open worked metal panels, approx. 1 inch deep. Each has a number of round clear pave set rhinestones and each has a large black cab like bead, pear shaped. In fact, one side has two such beads with the second being at the centre of the necklace length. Necklace is approx. 16 inches in length and the front has a kind of fish hook clasp there too. This is formed by a loop on one side on one panel and a hook on the other panel. This makes the piece easy to put on and take off. In very good to excellent condition.

Necklace with Unusual Gold Beads

This is a fabulous necklace in my opinion. Such unusual gold plated metal beads never fail to draw admiring glances. The necklace is approx. 17-18 inches in length which includes an extension length either side. The necklace has a sturdy fish hook clasp which has lost its plating but this is quite normal on vintage pieces. The extension is made from very elaborately work gold plated chain links and I think the extension has been added at some time. This could be removed and the necklace would still fit an average sized neck, worn against the throat. However, if you like your necklaces to sit a little lower down, then this extension does the job. The beads are brushed gold plated metalwork and they look like flower cups with tulip like petal shapes. These are smaller across the back and sides but are very large across the front, largest being approx. 1 inch across by 3/4 inches deep. At the front either side of the disk and clear bead, there are lots of disks, are piled on top of one another. This gives the impression of another big bead either side of the central bead, but like I say, they are single disks. They have a mirrored effect. All the beads are strung on wire. Metalwork does show signs of wear but this pieces dates from the 1960's so this must be expected. A great necklace though and wear is not drastic and certainly does not detract!

Gorgeous Necklace

A fantastic necklace which if my memory serves me correctly, I purchased originally in Italy. This is a long length necklace (hence my picture) which looks best when doubled up. Even doubled up it is still approx. 12 inches in drop down each side. This necklace does not have a clasp due to its length. The beautiful beads are in small, medium, large sizes with the largest being approx.3/4 inches across. They look like glass but actually are plastics. Colours are gorgeous, golds and browns with an iridisent quality. A beautiful necklace in very good condition.

Gorgeous Bibby necklace.Butterfly Shapes + Amber Rhinestones. 16 inches in length, 5 1/2 drop at front. This is a super necklace which has lots of appeal. Rhinestones very sparkling. Much nicer in person. In very good condition.

2 Big Gold Tone Necklaces - please see description below for details & prices

A big bold and gorgeous gold plated necklace by is signed D'Orlan on the back of the fold over clasp. Necklace is made from 1/2 inch square panels, all linked together wot form a band approx. 1/2 inch deep and forming a V front which is approx. 2 1/2 inches deep at the centre front. Panels have textured backgrounds with little star shapes which are polished. Necklace is approx. 15 inches in length and looks fabuluous when around the neck. Has a good weight but very comfortable to wear. Price: 16.00

Next necklace is also gold plated, made from 1/2 inch square open worked panels. These form a necklace length which is approx. 16 inches in length. Clasp is a fold over type and this is signed Monet on the reverse side. At the front there are lots of open worked V shapes, smaller at the top and deep at the lower end. Attached to these are five dangles, the central one being the longest. These are made from V shapes of metal filled with scrolls and then linked to one another. Pendant part is approx. 2 inches across the widest part by 5 inches or so in drop, including the dangles. Very very pretty and in very good vintage condition. Price: £12.00

Gorgeous Dangle Copper Tones Necklace

A gorgeous necklace which is made from coppery tones. The necklace has stagger large chain links which form a band approx. 1/4 inch wide. The necklace is approx. 15 inches in length. Across the front, spanning approx. 6 inches there is a second chain length and this, together with the original, has large dangles hanging. The dangles are coppery in tone but also have a japaned appearance. Very attractive, each dangle is the shape being approx. 1 inch across by 1 1/2 inches in length. These are probably hollow so the necklace is a comfortable weight. Very striking necklace in very good condition.

Mother of Pearl & Gold Plated Necklace

A gorgeous gorgeous necklace which is just so much nicer in person. My picture does not show the beautiful colours flashed by the mother of pearl central panel. Necklace is approx. 14 inches in length so meant to be worn as a choker type. In my opinion it is very comfortable to wear. Metalwork is gold plated and the choker closes with a sturdy fish hook clasp. The sides are made from strands of tubular beads which are very attractive and interesting. These are gold toned and they have tiny tiny pimples all over. They look like glass but not sure on this. There is a gold tone ball either side of the lengths. The pendant part is very beautiful and I do believe this is made from real Mother of Pearl. However, I am not an expert in mop, so I could be mistaken on this point, but nonetheless it is very very beautiful, flashing with turquoise, gold, cerise, etc. The mother of pearl forms the shape which is approx. 5 inches across and 1 1/4 inches deep at the deepest part. This shape is banded with gold plate and edged on the back with gold plate. The mop shines through the banding. Very very pretty and in very good to excellent condition.

An unusual and beautiful necklace which is gold plated being approx. 15 inches in length. This has wide round gold plated links forming the necklace length. Clasp is a lobster claw type so you can adjust. Spanning the front for 5 inches or so there are five big chunky gold plated metal shapes. The central shape is the largest, being approx. 1 1/2 inches square. This has a textured band around its shape with another square shape set at a diamond. Shapes either side are abstract and these are very thick, approx. 1/4 inch thick. Central shape is thick too, but not as thick as the smaller shapes. In very good to excellent condition. Has a very good weight. Price: £12.00

Next necklace is gold plated too, made from shapes which are linked together. These shapes have two small flower like shapes sitting over them which are textured. Panels are approx. 3/4 inches deep and approx. 1/2 inch wide. Panels look different on the reverse side and I think it is probably possible to wear the necklace that way around too. Clasp is a polished gold plated fold over type. Necklace is approx. 15 inches in length and has a good weight. In good vintage condition with some wear to the links which not noticeable until you examine very closely. Price: £8.00

Gold & Silver Tones, Dangling Pendant necklace

A very attractive necklace with gold plated close knit chain length looking like a rope, apprpox. 1/4 inch deep. The necklace length is long, approx. 24 inches. Pendant is very attractive made from a frame of open circles, all gold plated. This is one at the top with the bail and the next row has two circles and so on until the last row is back with two again. Each is approx. 3/4 inches across and each has a silver big round bead danglings from the top edge. I say these are silver but they have a silvery gold appearance, difficult to describe. At the lower end of the pendant there are other metal shapes and these have elongated gold plated beads from which dangles silvery gold smaller round beads. Pendant is approx. 2 1/4 inches wide across the widest part and approx. 5 inches in drop. This is much much nicer in person. Difficult to show you the true metal colours in my picture. Also, it dangles properly in real life. The beads moved on my scanner glass. In very good condition.

Gorgeous Flower Panel Necklace

A very pretty necklace made from gold plated flower shaped panels, each approx. 1 inch across and deep. All linked together to form a necklace which is approx. 15 inches in length. Flowers have large clear rhinestone at the centre with little clusteres of three set around the central stone. Polished gold plated bands and open worked design. Lobster claw clasp. Ever so sparkling and very pretty. In great shape.
