Gillian Horsup. Vintage Costume Jewellery, Bags, Compacts and other Accessories.
I have been buying and selling vintage costume jewellery and accessories for about 30 years (gillianhorsup.com). Currently I share a stand with Lola of Unicorn at Grays Antique Markets (near Bond Street Tube Station in central London). I am in The Mews - which is at the back of Grays Antiques - next to the Victory Cafe. I specialise in Art Deco jewellery and love bakelite, celluloid, glass, silver, plastics, jet etc. I particularly like European jewellery. I love selling in the shop - as I like the contact with my customers - but am happy to sell on the internet for people who are unable to get to London. |

CHARLES HORNER AFRICAN HEAD BROOCHMy yellow bakelite bracelet did not stay with me for long and has now gone to a new home in Japan. Was excited by my recent find in the Portobello Road! Have a new book - "Charles Horner of Halifax" by Tom J. Lawson (GML Publishing). Was amazed to find this African head brooch was made by the Horner factory - who are better known for silver and enamelled jewellery and hat pins. They made casein plastic jewellery, buttons etc. under the trade name Dorcasine. I have had this brooch a few times but would never have guessed who made it! Worth braving a rain storm for! £65 including P & P in the U.K. |
