Disco music - what does it include?

The music, records and labels I'm interested in were mainly around between 1975 and 1980. 1978 seemed to be pretty much the peak year for 70's disco

The majority of music people think of as 70's disco is stuff like the Village People with YMCA, and John Travolta with Saturday Night Fever, but these were really only cash-ins at the height of disco. Most of the best music was released earlier, and with much less marketing expense.

On this stall you can see a few of the artists and labels that were big before the cash-in began. Also included is the more recent revival of some of the best recordings made in the disco era.
